Product details & FAQ
The Alef straight abutment with shoulder is a titanium prosthetic abutment for cement-retained single crowns and bridges on the Alef internal-hex implant. A defined shoulder gives the restoration a clear margin to finish on, while the choice of collar height lets you place that margin at the right level relative to the soft tissue. This page brings the regular and the anatomic versions together, so you can compare them and order from one place.
Every abutment in this family is made of titanium and is delivered with its corresponding abutment screw, ALAS, so you do not need to order a screw separately for the first placement.
Regular or anatomic?
The regular abutments have a round, symmetrical emergence and are available in standard (Ø4.5 mm) and wide (Ø5.4 mm) widths. The anatomic abutments follow the scalloped contour of the gingival margin and are available in the standard width (Ø4.5 mm). Anatomic designs can help the clinician match the soft-tissue architecture, particularly in the anterior region, while the regular design is a straightforward choice for most other positions.
Collar height
Collar height describes the part of the abutment that sits within the soft tissue, from 1 mm to 4 mm. Choose the height according to the depth of the gingiva above the implant platform: a deeper tissue profile calls for a taller collar so the shoulder ends up at or near the gingival margin. The total abutment height above the collar is 9 mm.

How to choose the right size
Start with the implant platform and the available interocclusal space, then select the profile (regular or anatomic) and the width that match the planned crown. Measure the soft-tissue depth at the site and pick the collar height that brings the shoulder close to the gingival margin. Each combination has its own reference code, shown on the variant after you make your selection. For example, SA3 is the regular standard abutment with a 3 mm collar, and ASA2 is the anatomic standard abutment with a 2 mm collar.
The recommended torque values are a maximum and should not replace the clinician’s judgment. Adapt the torque to the clinical conditions, bone quality and the patient’s specific situation.
Compatibility
These abutments are designed for the Alef implant system. They are not interchangeable with the Til or Conix connections, which have their own abutment pages.

What is the difference between SA and ASA codes?
SA and SAW are the regular standard and wide abutments with shoulder. ASA is the anatomic version, which follows the gingival contour.
Is the anatomic version available in a wide width?
Not in this range. The anatomic abutment with shoulder is offered in the standard Ø4.5 mm width.
